Deji Adeyanju Drags Atiku Over Silence On Death Sentence Against Kano Musician




Deji Adeyanju has taken to the micro blogging webpage, Twitter to scold the 2019 Presidential applicant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, for keeping mum on capital punishment passed on Kano artist.

Shabba News reports that a 22-year-old Musician, Yahaya Sharif-Aminu, was condemned to death by an Upper Sharia Court in Kano State on August 10, 2020. The artist, who is an inhabitant of Sharifai in Kano city, was blamed for submitting sacrilege against Prophet Mohammed in a melody he circled by means of WhatsApp in March 2020.

Evidently incensed with the verses of the Kano performers tune, Irate adolescents torched his family home and drove a dissent to the Sharia Police, Hisbah, requesting Sharif Aminu’s demise. The artist, who sought refuge, was captured, swiftly attempted and sentenced for breaking Section 382 (b) of Kano punitive code of 2000 which depends on Islamic law.

Since capital punishment, Nigerians, the two Christians and Muslims, have taken to a few online media stages to denounce the sentence on the Kano performer with some approaching President Muhammadu Buhari to intercede on the judgment.

Nonetheless, talking in the midst of capital punishment passed on the Kano performer on Saturday, Atiku took to Twitter to praise English Premier League side, Arsenal FC for crushing Liverpool to win the Community Shield.

After the game, Atiku tweeted: “Invigorating game, Arsenal! Victoria Concordia Crescit (Victory Through Harmony).”

Disappointed with the tweet in the midst of capital punishment passed on the Kano artist, Adeyaju, a previous Director of New Media of the PDP, castigated Atiku for remarking on Arsenal however keeping mum on the judgment condemning the Kano performer to death.

Adeyanju tweeted: “Where’s Atiku and other presidential applicants who consistently have conclusions on each issue or they don’t need their kindred Muslims to censure them?”
